Position Summary
The General Hostel Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hostel while ensuring exceptional guest experiences, smooth operational performance, and a vibrant social atmosphere aligned with the brand culture. This role manages Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Events, and Guest Services while leading the team to achieve operational, financial, and guest satisfaction targets.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
Oversee day-to-day hostel operations and ensure compliance with company standards.

Maintain cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency across all areas of the property.

Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure rooms, public areas, and equipment are properly maintained.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and security standards.

Guest Experience
Deliver outstanding guest service and maintain a positive hostel atmosphere.

Handle guest concerns, complaints, and escalations professionally.

Organize and support social activities, events, and community engagement initiatives.

Monitor guest feedback and online reviews to maintain strong reputation scores.

Team Leadership
Lead, train, motivate, and supervise hostel staff across all operational departments.

Assist with recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management.

Conduct regular team briefings and training sessions.

Foster a positive, energetic, and service-oriented team culture.

Financial & Business Performance
Support budgeting, cost control, and revenue optimization initiatives.

Monitor occupancy, revenue, and operational KPIs.

Manage inventory, purchasing, and operational expenses.

Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to drive occupancy and promotions.

Events & Community Engagement
Ensure events and social activities reflect the hostel’s brand identity.

Collaborate with marketing and events teams on campaigns and partnerships.

Build strong local community and tourism relationships.

Compliance & Administration
Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, licenses, and legal requirements.

Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and incident logs.

Support overall property administration and reporting processes.
